FAQs
Q: Is the LC401 the same as the LC401XL? No. Both are compatible with the same Brother printers, but they differ in capacity. The LC401 is a standard-yield cartridge (200 pages per color). The LC401XL is a high-yield cartridge (500 pages per color), making it approximately 2.5× more economical per page. If you print frequently, the XL version offers better value.
Q: Can I use compatible ink cartridges in my Brother printer without voiding the warranty? Yes. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, printer manufacturers cannot void your warranty simply because you use compatible or third-party ink cartridges. Linford's LC401 cartridges are designed and tested to meet OEM specifications.
Q: Why does my printer show a low ink warning even with a new cartridge? Brother printers sometimes display low ink warnings with new compatible cartridges due to firmware-based chip reading. If print quality is normal, you can safely dismiss the warning. If the issue persists, contact Linford support — your cartridge is covered by our Lifetime Warranty.
Q: Does this pack include black ink? No. This 3-pack includes Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow only. For a complete 4-color set, see our Brother LC401XL 4-Pack (1 Black + 1 Cyan + 1 Magenta + 1 Yellow).
Q: Why is Brother LC401 black ink out of stock at other stores? Supply chain disruptions have affected LC401 availability at many retailers. Linford maintains dedicated inventory to ensure consistent stock. Order with confidence.
Q: How long do unused cartridges last? Linford LC401 cartridges have a shelf life of 18–24 months when stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Each cartridge is individually sealed to preserve ink quality.
