FAQs
Q: Why buy a 2-pack black instead of a color combo pack? If your black ink runs out much faster than color — common for people who primarily print text documents, emails, and spreadsheets — a dedicated black 2-pack lets you restock without replacing color cartridges that still have ink. It's a targeted restock option rather than a full replacement set.
Q: What is the difference between Epson 212 and 212XL black? Both fit the same printers. The 212XL black is high-yield (~600 pages) vs. the standard 212 black (~150 pages). The XL version holds approximately 4× more ink, making it far more cost-effective for regular printing.
Q: Will Epson firmware updates block these cartridges? Epson has issued firmware updates that block third-party and remanufactured cartridges on some models. Disable automatic firmware updates before installing. Contact Linford support if you've already been affected.
Q: Will remanufactured cartridges void my Epson printer warranty? No. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, Epson cannot void your printer warranty solely because you used a remanufactured or third-party ink cartridge.
Q: What should I do if the cartridge leaks? Stop installation immediately and do not use the leaking cartridge. Wipe the cartridge slot with a dry lint-free cloth. Contact Linford support at support@linfordoffice.com — all cartridges are covered by our Lifetime Warranty and we will send a replacement free of charge.
Q: How should I store the second cartridge while I use the first one? Store the sealed unused cartridge upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Linford Epson 212XL cartridges have a shelf life of 18–24 months unopened.
