How to Install HP 950XL / 951XL Ink Cartridges
- Turn on your HP printer โ Make sure it is powered on before opening the cartridge door.
- Open the cartridge access door โ The print carriage will move to the center and stop automatically.
- Remove the old cartridge โ Press down on the cartridge to release it, then pull it straight out. Set aside for recycling.
- Unpack the new cartridge โ Remove from packaging. Do not touch the copper contacts or ink nozzles.
- Remove the protective tape โ Peel off the orange tape from the nozzle area completely.
- Insert the cartridge โ Slide into the correct color-coded slot and push until it clicks firmly into place.
- Repeat for all 4 cartridges โ Install black (950XL), cyan, magenta, and yellow (951XL).
- Close the access door โ The printer will automatically align the new cartridges.
- Print a test page โ Confirm all four colors are printing correctly.
