How to Install Epson 232 Ink Cartridges
- Turn on your Epson printer and open the ink cartridge cover — the carriage will move to the replacement position
- Press the tab on the cartridge you want to replace and lift it out
- Remove the new 232 cartridge from its packaging and remove the yellow protective tape completely from the nozzle area — do not touch the chip or ink nozzles
- Insert the new cartridge into the correct color slot and push down firmly until it clicks into place
- Repeat for each cartridge being replaced
- Close the cartridge cover — the printer will run a brief initialization cycle
If your printer shows an ink error: Ensure the yellow tape is fully removed, that the cartridge is fully seated, and that you've selected the correct color slot. Most errors resolve after reinstallation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this pack include all four colors? Yes. This 4-pack contains one each of Epson 232 black (T232120-S, ~150 pages), cyan (T232220-S), magenta (T232320-S), and yellow (T232420-S) — each color ~140 pages at 5% coverage.
What is the difference between Epson 232 and 232XL? Both fit the same printers. Epson 232 is standard yield (150 BK / 140 color pages); Epson 232XL is high yield (500 BK / 350 color pages). The XL delivers a much lower cost per page for regular printing.
What is a remanufactured ink cartridge? A remanufactured cartridge uses an original Epson cartridge shell that has been professionally cleaned, inspected, refilled with premium ink, and tested for quality — performing like a new cartridge at a fraction of the OEM price.
My Epson printer shows a "cartridge not recognized" message. Is that normal? Yes. Epson printers display this message when a non-OEM cartridge is detected. Press OK or Continue to proceed. It does not affect print quality.
Will using remanufactured cartridges void my Epson printer warranty? No. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, Epson cannot void your printer warranty solely because you used a remanufactured ink cartridge.
How should I store unused cartridges? Store sealed cartridges upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. For best results, install within 18–24 months of purchase.
