FAQs
Q: What is the difference between Epson 802 and 802XL? Both fit the same Epson WorkForce Pro printers. The 802XL is high-yield (2,600 pages black / 1,900 pages color) vs. the standard 802 (~500 pages black / ~650 pages color). The XL prints approximately 4–5× more pages per cartridge — far more cost-effective for any office environment with regular printing needs.
Q: What type of ink does the Epson 802XL use? The Epson 802XL uses DURABrite Ultra pigment-based ink across all four colors. Pigment ink produces sharp, water-resistant, smudge-resistant output — ideal for professional documents and presentations that need to maintain quality over time.
Q: Will Epson firmware updates block these cartridges? Epson has issued firmware updates that block third-party and remanufactured cartridges on some models. Disable automatic firmware updates before installing. Contact Linford support if you've already been affected.
Q: Will remanufactured cartridges void my Epson printer warranty? No. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, Epson cannot void your printer warranty solely because you used a remanufactured or third-party ink cartridge.
Q: What Epson WorkForce Pro models use 802XL ink? The WF-4720, WF-4730, WF-4734, WF-4740, EC-4020, EC-4030, and EC-4040. See the full compatible printer list above.
Q: How should I store unused cartridges? Store sealed cartridges upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Linford Epson 802XL cartridges have a shelf life of 18–24 months unopened.
